About

Founded in the Spring of 2005, TreeFall Productions was conceived to meet the growing audio needs of clients in the film and video industry.  Meeting those audio needs and meeting them well means having the background and experience in sound design and audio mixing, and do we ever!

The owner of TreeFall Productions, Jason Ouzts, has over 20 years in sound design and audio mixing.  After graduating from the University of South Carolina with a BA in Journalism, Jason turned his talents toward media, working for NBC affiliate WIS-TV as a videographer journalist.  After his time behind the camera with WIS-TV, Jason realized his dream job as an audio engineer back at his alma mater, USC.  During 8 fantastic years at USC Jason handled TV, radio and theatre sound design projects including the Emmy Award winning “Technology Today” for PBS.

Jason’s move to Charlotte, North Carolina, brought bigger projects starting with the “Storykeepers” series which culminated in a full feature length animation with the voices of Robert Guillaume, Debby Boone, Adam Wylie and Tim Curry (Tim Curry as Nero is classic!).  From there Jason worked on HGTVs “Restore America” with Bob Villa, “America’s Castles” for A&E, “Blue Ribbon” and “3 Day Weekend” for Turner South, “Crime Stories” for Court TV as well as “Beyond the Wheel” for the Speed Channel, The Firm exercise videos, American Power Boat Series and numerous promos and commercials!

In addition to those impressive credits Jason was also sound designer and mixer for the popular Hermie and Friends Series, shows 1-4, featuring the voices of Tim Conway, Don Knotts, Vickie Lawrence, Melissa Disney and Taj Mowry.  A highlight in Jason’s career came when he helped direct Vince Gill and Amy Grant for the animation series “On The Farm with Farmer Bob” After trying his hand at direction, Jason went on to sound design and mix the first 2 shows in this series.

Working with Frank Peretti is another great highlight of my career” says Jason.  Jason did the sound design and mixes for the CD series “Wild and Wacky Bible stories with Mr. Henry.”  “Frank did all the voices in that series, including all the singing and harmonizing…..amazing” says Jason.  Jason also had the pleasure to record Frank’s voice for the audio book “Nightmare Academy” and “Hangman’s Curse”.

Jason has worked on two CBS Movies of the Week:  “A Vow to Cherish” with Ken Howard and Barbara Babcock, where Jason handled the sound design/mix and “Something to Sing About” starring Irma P. Hall, Tamera Mowry and Darius McCrary.

Jason’s feature film credits include “Bobby Jones, Stroke of Genius”, staring Jim Caviezel, Claire Forlani, Jeremy Northam, Connie Ray, and Malcom McDowell.

Jason has been involved with the “Danger Rangers” animation series for PBS.
